Due to low visitor counts, the Space Park leisure park in Bremen was closed in 2004. The new owner invested in the new concept ‘Waterfront’: a mall built toward the Weser River.
Hence the maritime features such as water fountains, the Water Bar and the Weser Lounge dotted in the landscape. The entrance area, with the generously sculpted pine and Rhododendron Park consisting of varying heights, is clearly identifiable from the main street. Water fountains also adorn the main entrance area as well as the area towards the Weser. Parking areas are located away from the Weser to make room for a zone with leisurely activities including temporary sports areas, the Shaded Walk – a boulevard of pagoda trees – or the Wooden Deck with gastronomic facilities.
