On behalf of the BEG, a concept study / master plan for a railway line between Kleve and Xanten that was closed in 1989 and developed as part of a premarketing. Two thirds of the route is on an old Roman road.

In addition to historical restrictions, limitations related to the railway line itself were worked out on the route. The language of shapes and colors of the hectometer stones and signal systems was transferred to new, usable design elements.
