The new campus for Infineon’s 7000 employees is based on the concept of combining structural clarity with the human scale of a campus setting. The concept was awarded with the 1st prize and realized in 2005.
The town planning structure abstains deliberately from a superstructure type of office building, but focuses on the universal human scale of modularity: house, square, street, alley, court and park. A water ring with natural qualities surrounds the city of offices. Apart from its aesthetic qualities it works as a climatic buffer to reduce peak temperatures.
A large-scale reed- and sand filtration system keeps its water at top-level quality. An existing 20 acre park outside the pond serves as a leisure park for both neighboring residents and Infineon workers.
