Duration: 2012
In collaboration with: Atelier Dreiseitl, Überlingen; Schneider + Schumacher, Frankfurt am Main
The project consisted of designing a waterfront, a water park with offshore islands, and the infrastructure and design of a public park.
The existing landscape is characterized by its centuries-long usage as an agricultural area with canals, fishponds, rice fields, and liquat plantations.
The design of this park embodies key elements of this cultural landscape, and merges them with the naturally existing elements of the Yangtze Plain (The fluvial layer) and with new components that extended from the surrounding urban development (the urban layer).
These two layers are highlighted through the vibrant contrast of the organic forms against the clear built forms.
