The State Garden Show aims to bring the shared history of the town and the wider area from Höxter town centre to the Corvey Castle World Heritage Site to life as a journey through time. Five sub-areas showcase their diverse spatial and atmospheric qualities: Remtergarten, Weserbogen, Weserscholle and Weser landscape, ramparts. The connecting element is the promenade path running in a generous arc. In the Remtergarten, the knowledge of the Benedictines is revived under the protection of high castle walls – medicinal herbs and medicinal plants, beautiful roses, rare perennials, fragrant shrubs and almost forgotten vegetables grow in the Apothecary Garden. A sunken city is made visible in the archaeological park. A complete medieval city layout lies dormant in the soil of the Weser Arch. There is a sea of lavender, baroque orchards, colourful flowering meadows and a lily valley. The Weserscholle offers a wide promenade with a stepped terrace on the bank and alluvial forest. The rampart is a blossoming ribbon around the old town centre. 3 new playgrounds enrich the area: Medieval World, Fairytale World and Old Sawmill.
