The cycle path links Frankfurt via Neu-Isenburg, Dreieich and Langen to Darmstadt. The fast cycle route will be realized in sections and will pass through landscape and nature conservation areas. This results in a varied and natural route which, in addition to an improved infrastructure, also offers local recreation. As the cycle path is used by different users (including cyclists, dog owners and walkers), the width of the path will be adapted to this situation and widened to 7.5 m in most cases. This width is made up of 4.00 m of cycle path, 2.50 m of footpath and 0.50 m of verge on each side. In some places, the path will be slightly shifted around bends in order to achieve a larger curve radius. The drainage of the path is ensured by a uniform cross slope of 2.5%.<\/p>\n<p>The cycle path is bordered on the sides by white road markings. The use of the areas is clearly indicated by symbol markings. In areas where increased attention is required, a coating of epoxy resin with quartz sand is applied, which is sprinkled with color sand in red. Grooved plates are provided as tactile surfaces in front of bottlenecks and special attention areas. The substructure of the footbridge will be extended and a uniform surface will be laid over the entire area. The existing railings will be dismantled and new ones installed.<\/p>\n<p>A service station has been built at an important intersection (shelter with seating, lights, air pump, bicycle hangers).<\/p>\n<p>Drainage ditches in the open land area were adapted and extended as part of the planning.<\/p>\n<p>The wooden bridge over the Kirchnerseckgraben was widened from 3.00 m to 4.00 m. The substructure was renovated and extended, a uniform surface was laid and the handrails were replaced.<\/p>\n<p>New trees were planted in some places along the cycle highway and habitat structures were created for the sand lizard, which is present and worthy of protection. In order to protect the adjacent nature conservation areas, simple wooden barriers have been erected in accordance with the direction of travel to prevent foot traffic and the formation of trails to shorten the path. Simple gate constructions within the barriers allow passage for agricultural purposes.<\/p>\n<p>The cycle highway is illuminated throughout. Insect-friendly solar LED luminaires with 3000 Kelvin have been installed for the lighting outside the town. The light point height is 6.00 m and the distance between the masts is approx. 40 meters. The lamps are dimmed down during the dark hours.\u00a0 Light fields are generated via motion control. The lighting is switched off between 23:00 and 5:00. Lighting is generally not used in the nature reserve. Hazardous areas such as bridge crossings, which require special attention and visibility to prevent accidents, are equipped with lights at certain points.<\/p>\n<p>At selected points along the path, there will be an opportunity to take a break. Benches will be installed here. There are litter bins in the seating area and at the service station. Two further waste garbage cans, specially designed for cyclists, are located along the route.
